CHUS CARTES
I work with people in roles of high responsibility and professional exposure, whose work involves making decisions, taking a position, and communicating with impact, either in their own name or on behalf of a company, a team, or an organisation.
Focus
My work focuses on how a person operates internally when there is a high responsibility and exposure. I support mental and emotional performance processes with a clear focus on patterns of overexertion and overcontrol, and on the loss of trust in one’s own judgment, particularly when identity becomes tied to the role.
My Work
I am a certified coach, with training accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). I specialise in identity work, because this is where the patterns that drive overexertion, excessive control, and self-doubt are formed — and where the capacity to decide and communicate from one’s own judgment can be restored under pressure.
From this work, the method I use today has emerged. It is a proprietary approach, developed through more than 800 hours of one-to-one work with professionals in high-responsibility environments across Europe and the Middle East, designed for precise intervention in complex transformation processes.
I work with people whose challenge is not acquiring more tools, but stepping out of autopilot when their position places them under constant scrutiny. People who need to make clear decisions, communicate with precision, and stand by their judgment without living in a state of constant tension.
That is the world I know well.
For over twenty years, I worked as a Communications Director in the corporate world. I led international projects, took part in high-profile launches such as The Cal by Pirelli and ELLE x Swarovski, directed corporate magazines for groups such as Hotel Arts and Joyerías Rabat, and assumed institutional and brand representation roles, both on and off camera, on television and radio.
My work focused on positioning projects, shaping strategic decisions, and managing their communicative impact in contexts of high responsibility and high public exposure.
Every decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose.
Working in these roles over many years, I experienced first-hand the constant pressure, heightened self-demand, and overcontrol that emerge when visibility and responsibility leave little room to breathe. Over time, this way of operating led me to a personal and professional limit, the result of cumulative strain and a mode of functioning that could no longer be sustained.
Who We Are
From there, I entered a three-year pause dedicated to deep and sustained inner work, including periods of retreat focused on understanding how this way of operating had been formed and what continued to drive it.
Our Story
I bring over twenty years of experience in the corporate world as a Communications Director. My work focused on positioning projects, shaping strategic decisions, and managing their communicative impact in environments of high responsibility and high public exposure.
After many years operating in these contexts, I experienced firsthand the constant pressure, external scrutiny, and excessive self-demand that come with sustaining a highly visible role over time, eventually reaching a personal and professional limit. That limit was the cumulative result of years of overcontrol, unbalanced self-demand, and ongoing strain.
From there, I entered a three-year pause dedicated to deep and sustained inner work, including periods of retreat aimed at understanding how this way of operating had been built and what continued to drive it.
That journey is the direct origin of the psychodynamic approach through which I now work with other professionals.
